Narrative:

Landed at night on runway 20L and was cleared to taxi but hold short of runway 20R. Clearance was then amended to taxi on runway 34. On receiving the new clearance, my mind set was that this would not take me across an active runway! My lookout was degraded and just as I approached runway 20R, tower called to hold short and reminded me of the previous 'hold short' clearance. A landing aircraft passed within 35 ft of my airplane. Problem was pilot induced by not proceeding cautiously at night and not continuing outside scan for traffic. The controller changed the taxi instruction without adding the 'hold short' instruction, which contributed to the problem.

Title: DEV FROM CLRNC CLRNC LIMIT OVERSHOT. PLT FORGETS AND TAXIES BEYOND THE HOLD LINE BEFORE THE TWR REMINDS HIM TO HOLD SHORT.

Narrative: LANDED AT NIGHT ON RWY 20L AND WAS CLRED TO TAXI BUT HOLD SHORT OF RWY 20R. CLRNC WAS THEN AMENDED TO TAXI ON RWY 34. ON RECEIVING THE NEW CLRNC, MY MIND SET WAS THAT THIS WOULD NOT TAKE ME ACROSS AN ACTIVE RWY! MY LOOKOUT WAS DEGRADED AND JUST AS I APCHED RWY 20R, TWR CALLED TO HOLD SHORT AND REMINDED ME OF THE PREVIOUS 'HOLD SHORT' CLRNC. A LNDG ACFT PASSED WITHIN 35 FT OF MY AIRPLANE. PROB WAS PLT INDUCED BY NOT PROCEEDING CAUTIOUSLY AT NIGHT AND NOT CONTINUING OUTSIDE SCAN FOR TFC. THE CTLR CHANGED THE TAXI INSTRUCTION WITHOUT ADDING THE 'HOLD SHORT' INSTRUCTION, WHICH CONTRIBUTED TO THE PROB.
