Narrative:
Called sfo clearance delivery for clearance sfo-acv. Cleared 'via the stins 6 departure to stins vectors mendocino as filed.' cleared for takeoff on runway 10R immediately behind a B-727 that was also on stins 6 SID. When tower switched us to bay departure, he said 'contact bay on the luvve departure.' I said 'we were cleared on the stins 6.' he said turn right to 120 degrees vectors mendocino, contact departure 135.1.' bay took the handoff and I inquired if there was a problem since we started on the stins 6. He said no. After climb out called clearance frequency sfo and asked him how he believes we were cleared. He said we were given the luvve 1. I said 'we were given the stins 6 and that is what I read back in the initial clearance.' he said 'we only give the air carrier the luvve 1 or 070 degree headings.'
