Narrative:
On apr/tue/95 at about XA00Z, taxi clearance was given to taxi down runway 31, hold short of runway 35, then to runway 12L for departure at stl. While taxiing down runway 35, the controller asked if I was ready to depart. I was ready. Controller cleared me for takeoff on runway 35. I suppose I got all the 3's mixed up because I turned around on runway 31 and departed on runway 13. By the time I realized what I did I was just lifting off. Also, tower informed me I was rolling on the wrong runway. Takeoff continued and rest of flight uneventful. I feel this was a very serious situation, especially in light of previous events at stl a few months back. Looking back on the incident I was tired. The airport was not busy so I may not have been attentive as I could have been! Also I was in a hurry to depart and get home. In my rush, the taxi clearance and takeoff clearance were changed. This led to some disorientation and the incident occurred. Next time I will slow down and use as much vigilance as possible regardless of the time of day and stay alert.

Title: TKOF ON WRONG RWY.
Narrative: ON APR/TUE/95 AT ABOUT XA00Z, TAXI CLRNC WAS GIVEN TO TAXI DOWN RWY 31, HOLD SHORT OF RWY 35, THEN TO RWY 12L FOR DEP AT STL. WHILE TAXIING DOWN RWY 35, THE CTLR ASKED IF I WAS READY TO DEPART. I WAS READY. CTLR CLRED ME FOR TKOF ON RWY 35. I SUPPOSE I GOT ALL THE 3'S MIXED UP BECAUSE I TURNED AROUND ON RWY 31 AND DEPARTED ON RWY 13. BY THE TIME I REALIZED WHAT I DID I WAS JUST LIFTING OFF. ALSO, TWR INFORMED ME I WAS ROLLING ON THE WRONG RWY. TKOF CONTINUED AND REST OF FLT UNEVENTFUL. I FEEL THIS WAS A VERY SERIOUS SIT, ESPECIALLY IN LIGHT OF PREVIOUS EVENTS AT STL A FEW MONTHS BACK. LOOKING BACK ON THE INCIDENT I WAS TIRED. THE ARPT WAS NOT BUSY SO I MAY NOT HAVE BEEN ATTENTIVE AS I COULD HAVE BEEN! ALSO I WAS IN A HURRY TO DEPART AND GET HOME. IN MY RUSH, THE TAXI CLRNC AND TKOF CLRNC WERE CHANGED. THIS LED TO SOME DISORIENTATION AND THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. NEXT TIME I WILL SLOW DOWN AND USE AS MUCH VIGILANCE AS POSSIBLE REGARDLESS OF THE TIME OF DAY AND STAY ALERT.
