Narrative:
During a visual approach to runway 24R at lax, we went through the final approach course and were almost as far south of it as the runway 25 complex. The tower asked if we were correcting back for runway 24R, which we were. We landed on runway 24R and nothing more was said to us by ATC. I'm writing this in case we were too close to traffic lined up for runway 25L. I was flying a perfect visual to runway 24R and during the turn, while on right base, while looking from inside to outside, I visually fixed on the 25 runways and shallowed the turn going through the runway 24 localizer. I was almost rolled out on final (runway 25R) when I noticed the localizer was fully deflected right. I just continued the turn back to runway 24R. The rest of the crew also was focused visually on the runway 25 complex as well. We all noticed the mistake at the same time. So much for my perfect approach.

Title: WHILE TRANSITIONING FROM INSTS TO A VISUAL APCH, A DC-10 FLC OVERSHOT RWY 24R APCH LANE AT LAX. THE PF HAD FIXATED, AND ALIGNED WITH THE RWY 25 COMPLEX. ERROR WAS DISCOVERED AND CORRECTED BY FLC.

THE TWR ASKED IF WE WERE CORRECTING BACK FOR RWY 24R, WHICH WE WERE. WE LANDED ON RWY 24R AND NOTHING MORE WAS SAID TO US BY ATC. I'M WRITING THIS IN CASE WE WERE TOO CLOSE TO TFC LINED UP FOR RWY 25L. I WAS FLYING A PERFECT VISUAL TO RWY 24R AND DURING THE TURN, WHILE ON R BASE, WHILE LOOKING FROM INSIDE TO OUTSIDE, I VISUALLY FIXED ON THE 25 RWYS AND SHALLOWED THE TURN GOING THROUGH THE RWY 24 LOC. I WAS ALMOST ROLLED OUT ON FINAL (RWY 25R) WHEN I NOTICED THE LOC WAS FULLY DEFLECTED R. I JUST CONTINUED THE TURN BACK TO RWY 24R. THE REST OF THE CREW ALSO WAS FOCUSED VISUALLY ON THE RWY 25 COMPLEX AS WELL. WE ALL NOTICED THE MISTAKE AT THE SAME TIME. SO MUCH FOR MY PERFECT APCH.
