Narrative:
Took off from atl, captain flying, first officer dialed in the wrong departure frequency. He put in the north departure frequency but should have put in the south! All 3 crew members believed we heard acknowledgement from the controller upon sign-in. After some time passed I asked to call departure and ask them their intentions. We were told to be quiet and wait, for they were busy, and would call us. 'Gentleman, we know what we are doing,' they stated. I looked at the pre departure clearance to verify the frequency. I then saw the error. We dialed in the correct frequency, atl departure said they tried to call us for 45 mi. That is all what was said. This was the last day of a difficult 4 day trip -- 15, 14, 13:30 hour days. We were all tired! Departure month should have alerted us that we came up on the wrong frequency.
