Narrative:
On descent to 12000 ft MSL with autoplt on and 'VNAV' (FMS- descent path) engaged -- descent rate was increased by use of flight spoilers to make required crossing restr (12000 ft). When restr was captured, spoilers were retracted. Autoplt trim was extremely slow to provide nose-up trim. Altitude recaptured manually -- 350 ft maximum deviation. (11650 ft).
