Narrative:

After cleared for a visual approach to runway 32 and on a high downwind we landed and as I was turning off the runway I noticed that my reminder at being cleared to land (nose gear light) was not on. That is when I realized that we were not cleared to land. The first officer did not catch it also and contacted tower and he said to contact ground on point 9. There was no other aircraft in the area or on the ground. The tower seemed to be not concerned about this. In 20 yrs of flying this is the first time it has happened to me and I plan on being more aware of it in the future. I hope in the future the tower could tell approach that they are not talking to the flight and have them contact them or go around. But the buck stops with me. (Always)!!!
