Narrative:
We were on final for runway 16 at natchitoches, la, with landing lights on and I had just advised area traffic that we were 3 mi out. No other aircraft were reporting their position. At about 1/2 mi final I noticed to my left an agricultural aircraft departing runway 7. Actually he was already airborne and we were headed right for each other. I pointed to the aircraft and told the captain who was flying 'look out, look out!' the captain immediately banked right and descended and the agricultural plane climbed and banked left. We gathered it up, made the go around, and came back in and landed without further incident. The agricultural plane continued on. This is just another reminder to always keep your eyes pealed for aircraft not talking on the radio! I've learned again never let your guard down at these little uncontrolled airports and always keep scanning for those yellow agricultural planes.
