Narrative:
Given heading of 250 degrees during climb to FL350. Cleared direct to mol, first officer initiated turn toward csn rather than mol. First officer requested heading to intercept csn radial outbound, center gave turn to 270 degrees due to other FL310 traffic to south. Oil needing servicing at the next station, problem would not have occurred except for company requirement to call in all maintenance discrepancies. Center asked for expedited climb and traffic was never seriously close.

Title: DEV FROM CLRNC RTE -- ACR WAS CLRED DIRECT TO ONE POINT, BUT THE FO TURNS TOWARD ANOTHER POINT. THE ARTCC CTLR INTERVENES AND CORRECTS THE SIT.
Narrative: GIVEN HDG OF 250 DEGS DURING CLB TO FL350. CLRED DIRECT TO MOL, FO INITIATED TURN TOWARD CSN RATHER THAN MOL. FO REQUESTED HDG TO INTERCEPT CSN RADIAL OUTBOUND, CTR GAVE TURN TO 270 DEGS DUE TO OTHER FL310 TFC TO S. OIL NEEDING SVCING AT THE NEXT STATION, PROB WOULD NOT HAVE OCCURRED EXCEPT FOR COMPANY REQUIREMENT TO CALL IN ALL MAINT DISCREPANCIES. CTR ASKED FOR EXPEDITED CLB AND TFC WAS NEVER SERIOUSLY CLOSE.
