Narrative:

On aug/thu/95, had to return to land because landing gear would not retract. When maintenance showed up at the aircraft they found that the landing gear alternate release door was open about 1 inch. All checklist, acceptance (preflight) and before start checklists were done. The door appeared to be closed when we did the checklist.

Title: FLC OF AN MDT RETURNED TO LAND AFTER THE LNDG GEAR DID NOT RETRACT.

Narrative: ON AUG/THU/95, HAD TO RETURN TO LAND BECAUSE LNDG GEAR WOULD NOT RETRACT. WHEN MAINT SHOWED UP AT THE ACFT THEY FOUND THAT THE LNDG GEAR ALTERNATE RELEASE DOOR WAS OPEN ABOUT 1 INCH. ALL CHKLIST, ACCEPTANCE (PREFLT) AND BEFORE START CHKLISTS WERE DONE. THE DOOR APPEARED TO BE CLOSED WHEN WE DID THE CHKLIST.
