Narrative:
Ftw approach cleared us from 11000 ft to 6000 ft. I read back clearance. Then we started our descent. Next approach said to maintain 11000 ft and that our previous clearance was for another flight. No traffic conflict existed. I thought I would go ahead and submit an ASRS report to be safe.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLC OF AN MLG ACTED ON A CLRNC FOR ANOTHER ACFT AND STARTED DSCNT BEFORE BEING AUTH.
Narrative: FTW APCH CLRED US FROM 11000 FT TO 6000 FT. I READ BACK CLRNC. THEN WE STARTED OUR DSCNT. NEXT APCH SAID TO MAINTAIN 11000 FT AND THAT OUR PREVIOUS CLRNC WAS FOR ANOTHER FLT. NO TFC CONFLICT EXISTED. I THOUGHT I WOULD GO AHEAD AND SUBMIT AN ASRS RPT TO BE SAFE.
