Narrative:
Began flight on an aircraft which had maintenance performed to flight instruments which was completed and signed off on aircraft logbook. However, aircraft needed further maintenance testing to be returned to CAT III status. Crew missed aircraft placard 'not in autoland/CAT III status' and performed uneventful, normal autoland/CAT III approach before discovering aircraft not in autoland status. Crew was caught by maintenance sign off and concern for WX instead of thorough logbook review.
