Narrative:
Aircraft: PA-24-260C. During landing, aircraft veered left upon touchdown of nose gear. Full right rudder and braking were applied to no avail. Aircraft exited runway to grassy area and entered depression in ground which sheared nose gear strut. Eyewitness reported nose gear was off center during final approach. Aircraft was flown during the day prior to this occurrence and normal gear operations and indications were evident during previous flight as well as final flight. Cause unknown. Tower may have been of assistance had they seen and reported that nose gear was not aligned.
