Narrative:
During takeoff captain's airspeed indicator did not xchk with first officer's at 80 KTS. Should have been aware of failure at a lower speed. Indicator's spacing between 0-60 KTS is small, between 60 and 80 KTS, the 70 KTS tick is not 1/2 way between 60-80 KTS. It's a strange layout. Normally the airspeed indicator jumps 'alive' after 60KTS. Doesn't give pilot a lot of time.
