Narrative:
During taxi for takeoff on runway 12R, we were instructed to 'hold short of G, allow the gulfstream to cross in front of you.' we acknowledged the clearance and immediately saw a 2 engine propeller on landing rollout on runway 12R. We assumed that aircraft was our 'traffic' to hold for. I slowed the taxi speed and slowly rolled through 'G' as that aircraft cleared the runway at an earlier intersection. I was stunned when ground control admonished us for not holding for the gulfstream. The gulfstream we were instructed to hold for had cleared runway 12L and was on taxiway 'G' on the other side of the runway 12R. I did not see the gulfstream! In the future, I will comply with all instructions fully and clear the area with more intensity and not 'assume' anything. Ground control could have offered more information, stating the gulfstream was on 'G' or less information 'hold short of G.'
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: TXWY INCURSION.
Narrative: DURING TAXI FOR TKOF ON RWY 12R, WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO 'HOLD SHORT OF G, ALLOW THE GULFSTREAM TO CROSS IN FRONT OF YOU.' WE ACKNOWLEDGED THE CLRNC AND IMMEDIATELY SAW A 2 ENG PROP ON LNDG ROLLOUT ON RWY 12R. WE ASSUMED THAT ACFT WAS OUR 'TFC' TO HOLD FOR. I SLOWED THE TAXI SPD AND SLOWLY ROLLED THROUGH 'G' AS THAT ACFT CLRED THE RWY AT AN EARLIER INTXN. I WAS STUNNED WHEN GND CTL ADMONISHED US FOR NOT HOLDING FOR THE GULFSTREAM. THE GULFSTREAM WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO HOLD FOR HAD CLRED RWY 12L AND WAS ON TXWY 'G' ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE RWY 12R. I DID NOT SEE THE GULFSTREAM! IN THE FUTURE, I WILL COMPLY WITH ALL INSTRUCTIONS FULLY AND CLR THE AREA WITH MORE INTENSITY AND NOT 'ASSUME' ANYTHING. GND CTL COULD HAVE OFFERED MORE INFO, STATING THE GULFSTREAM WAS ON 'G' OR LESS INFO 'HOLD SHORT OF G.'
