Narrative:
Descended below assigned altitude. Assigned altitude was 8000 ft. Terminated descent at 7600 ft. Noticed by crew and approach control. Contributing factors: crew fatigue (night freighter) altitude setting in awi (altitude alerter) was not changed from 10000 ft to 8000 ft. Supplemental information from acn 316598: descent was noticed by crew and approach control at approximately 7500 ft MSL. Copilot was flying aircraft by hand with flight director guidance.
