Crew neglected to pick up clearance on ACARS due to distrs: 1) only time to eat with only 40 mins turn around -- no more crew meal program. 2) attending to maintenance problems, and having to call maintenance twice, since they are shorthanded due to cutbacks.

Narrative: CREW NEGLECTED TO PICK UP CLRNC ON ACARS DUE TO DISTRS: 1) ONLY TIME TO EAT WITH ONLY 40 MINS TURN AROUND -- NO MORE CREW MEAL PROGRAM. 2) ATTENDING TO MAINT PROBS, AND HAVING TO CALL MAINT TWICE, SINCE THEY ARE SHORTHANDED DUE TO CUTBACKS.
