Narrative:

On final runway 32 VFR, noted helicopter approaching low heading approximately 030 degrees towards runway 32. In attempting to avoid, I landed long and was unable to adequately brake plane to avoid running off end of runway approximately 100 ft into cut dry grass. No damage to plane or occupants. Plane was pushed back to ramp and taxied to parking. Helicopter changed course, landed on helipad west of runway 32. In retrospect, when helicopter did not respond to my notification, I was on short final. I should have aborted landing and performed a go around. Helicopter pilot was courteous and helped me push plane back to ramp.

PLANE WAS PUSHED BACK TO RAMP AND TAXIED TO PARKING. HELI CHANGED COURSE, LANDED ON HELIPAD W OF RWY 32. IN RETROSPECT, WHEN HELI DID NOT RESPOND TO MY NOTIFICATION, I WAS ON SHORT FINAL. I SHOULD HAVE ABORTED LNDG AND PERFORMED A GAR. HELI PLT WAS COURTEOUS AND HELPED ME PUSH PLANE BACK TO RAMP.
