Narrative:

Greenville tower told me to report a 2 NM final for runway 18R. Since I was the only airplane in the pattern, visually and on the tower frequency, I inadvertently thought I was cleared for a visual runway 18R and proceeded to land. After landing I was reminded by the tower that I had not been issued a clearance to land yet. Considering the fact the winds were gusting to 20 KTS, the last thing on my mind was to report my position. Unless there is conflicting traffic, I find such a report unnecessary, given the visibility at the time.

Title: AN SMA LANDED WITHOUT CLRNC.

Narrative: GREENVILLE TWR TOLD ME TO RPT A 2 NM FINAL FOR RWY 18R. SINCE I WAS THE ONLY AIRPLANE IN THE PATTERN, VISUALLY AND ON THE TWR FREQ, I INADVERTENTLY THOUGHT I WAS CLRED FOR A VISUAL RWY 18R AND PROCEEDED TO LAND. AFTER LNDG I WAS REMINDED BY THE TWR THAT I HAD NOT BEEN ISSUED A CLRNC TO LAND YET. CONSIDERING THE FACT THE WINDS WERE GUSTING TO 20 KTS, THE LAST THING ON MY MIND WAS TO RPT MY POS. UNLESS THERE IS CONFLICTING TFC, I FIND SUCH A RPT UNNECESSARY, GIVEN THE VISIBILITY AT THE TIME.
