Narrative:
On descent into phx we were given a 180 degree heading to intercept the phx 321 degree radial to resume the karlo 5 arrival. My first officer had been flying this route all month and dialed in the 30 degree radial or 121 degree heading into his VOR. I did not xchk this heading with the arrival plate and did the same. Center asked us if we intended to intercept the 321 degree radial which drew my attention to the error. I dialed in a heading of 141 degrees which was correct and saw we were 1 full DOT past the radial. I initiated a 30 degree bank turn to reintercept the correct radial. We were informed by ATC that we came close to military airspace. The major reason this occurred is complacency on my part in not xchking my first officer's navigation with the arrival plate.

THE MAJOR REASON THIS OCCURRED IS COMPLACENCY ON MY PART IN NOT XCHKING MY FO'S NAV WITH THE ARR PLATE.
