Narrative:
I had made a transmission on CTAF that I was taxiing for departure on runway 24. Another aircraft, a commuter, immediately reported on CTAF 'approaching OM.' I saw his lights in the distance. About 45 seconds later, I transmitted on CTAF 'departing runway 24, straight-out' as I was about to move onto the runway. The inbound aircraft appeared about 3 mi away. Safely airborne, I transmitted 'clear of the runway.' the inbound aircraft responded on frequency with 'next time leave a little more room.' his transmission makes me think he felt there was not enough clearance between my aircraft and his aircraft on this departure-arrival situation, though I judged ample separation. The commuter landed without incident.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: AN ATX PLT RPTS THAT AN ACR FLC COMPLAINED THAT HE DEPARTED AN UNCTLED ARPT WHEN THE ACR WAS TOO CLOSE ON FINAL APCH. THE RPTR SAID THAT THE APCHING ACR WAS ABOUT 3 MILES OUT WHEN HE TOOK THE RWY.
Narrative: I HAD MADE A XMISSION ON CTAF THAT I WAS TAXIING FOR DEP ON RWY 24. ANOTHER ACFT, A COMMUTER, IMMEDIATELY RPTED ON CTAF 'APCHING OM.' I SAW HIS LIGHTS IN THE DISTANCE. ABOUT 45 SECONDS LATER, I XMITTED ON CTAF 'DEPARTING RWY 24, STRAIGHT-OUT' AS I WAS ABOUT TO MOVE ONTO THE RWY. THE INBOUND ACFT APPEARED ABOUT 3 MI AWAY. SAFELY AIRBORNE, I XMITTED 'CLR OF THE RWY.' THE INBOUND ACFT RESPONDED ON FREQ WITH 'NEXT TIME LEAVE A LITTLE MORE ROOM.' HIS XMISSION MAKES ME THINK HE FELT THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH CLRNC BTWN MY ACFT AND HIS ACFT ON THIS DEP-ARR SIT, THOUGH I JUDGED AMPLE SEPARATION. THE COMMUTER LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT.
