Narrative:

Passing about 7000 ft on descent into ord we were cleared for visual approach direct to runway 27L. I (first officer) was flying and went gear down, flaps 40 degrees early, since we were high. Approaching the marker (wilt), the captain saw I was decelerating and said we were assigned 180 KTS till wilt, a call I had missed. Approach then called and asked our speed and stated we were assigned 180 KTS till wilt. We kept the speed up as long as possible passing wilt and landed normally. Supplemental information from acn 321770: copilot was flying as I was completing the checklist and anti-icing procedures. I noticed we had slowed to 160 KTS and told first officer to speed up to 180 KTS to the marker.
