Narrative:

2 airspeed bugs were missing from captain's airspeed indicator. Aircraft was due maintenance inspection following day. To communicate missing bugs, a sticky note was attached to maintenance log, indicating the need for the 2 bugs. There is no relief in the MEL currently, and this communications method was spontaneous and well intended to add the bugs. We fly both the model C BE02 (with no airspeed bugs) and the model D which have the bugs, so flying the aircraft without bugs does not seem to present a safety problem. FSDO (far) saw note on an impromptu inspection in the morning of inspection date and brought it to the attention of company management.
