Narrative:
ATC assigned heading, and heading hold was selected. Autoplt captured LNAV course and began turn. ATC asked about turn. We corrected to assigned heading. He then cleared us to mxe. Supplemental information from acn 322350: ATC told to hold current heading. In autoplt mode selected heading hold. However, autoplt captured LNAV mode and started a turn -- center called and we corrected back. Cavu, no traffic conflict, safety not a consideration, and nothing on TCASII. It was inadvertent and unintentional.

Title: FLC DEVIATED FROM ATC ASSIGNED HEADING. AUTOPLT TURNED TOWARD LNAV COURSE AFTER HEADING HOLD WAS SELECTED. HEADING DEV WAS DETECTED BY ATC.
Narrative: ATC ASSIGNED HEADING, AND HEADING HOLD WAS SELECTED. AUTOPLT CAPTURED LNAV COURSE AND BEGAN TURN. ATC ASKED ABOUT TURN. WE CORRECTED TO ASSIGNED HEADING. HE THEN CLRED US TO MXE. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 322350: ATC TOLD TO HOLD CURRENT HEADING. IN AUTOPLT MODE SELECTED HEADING HOLD. HOWEVER, AUTOPLT CAPTURED LNAV MODE AND STARTED A TURN -- CTR CALLED AND WE CORRECTED BACK. CAVU, NO TFC CONFLICT, SAFETY NOT A CONSIDERATION, AND NOTHING ON TCASII. IT WAS INADVERTENT AND UNINTENTIONAL.
