Narrative:
ATIS was directing ILS runway 14R. Upon breaking out of the clouds I picked up, what I thought, were 2 runways, but one was a taxiway, that I believe was snow plowed. I requested runway 14L and was cleared to land runway 14L. Never saw runway 14L but landed on runway 14R thinking it was runway 14L. It was perhaps caused by snow on the other runway. Another plane was cleared for takeoff by the tower before the error was noted, and then the tower promptly corrected the situation before the other plane took to the runway. From this incident, I learned to be absolute in determining that I am landing on the proper runway at any airport, especially for the first time.

Narrative: ATIS WAS DIRECTING ILS RWY 14R. UPON BREAKING OUT OF THE CLOUDS I PICKED UP, WHAT I THOUGHT, WERE 2 RWYS, BUT ONE WAS A TXWY, THAT I BELIEVE WAS SNOW PLOWED. I REQUESTED RWY 14L AND WAS CLRED TO LAND RWY 14L. NEVER SAW RWY 14L BUT LANDED ON RWY 14R THINKING IT WAS RWY 14L. IT WAS PERHAPS CAUSED BY SNOW ON THE OTHER RWY. ANOTHER PLANE WAS CLRED FOR TKOF BY THE TWR BEFORE THE ERROR WAS NOTED, AND THEN THE TWR PROMPTLY CORRECTED THE SIT BEFORE THE OTHER PLANE TOOK TO THE RWY. FROM THIS INCIDENT, I LEARNED TO BE ABSOLUTE IN DETERMINING THAT I AM LNDG ON THE PROPER RWY AT ANY ARPT, ESPECIALLY FOR THE FIRST TIME.
