Narrative:
We were cleared to climb to 11000 ft. All company procedures related to altitude awareness were complied with including calling out 10000 for 11000 ft. First officer was hand flying aircraft. During level off we were cleared direct to the east texas (etx) VOR. As the PNF, I programmed the clearance into the FMC. When I looked up from that task, we were climbing through 11200 ft. I called out altitude simultaneous with altitude alerter warning. Prompt correction was initiated returning aircraft to 11000 ft. Maximum altitude reached was 11400 ft. A significant contributing factor was our duty time and rest situation. This incident occurred on day 4 of a 4 day trip. Both 'day 2' and 'day 3' of the trip were each 7 hours flying and each in excess of 12 hours on duty. This was followed by a minimum overnight and an early morning departure not allowing more than 6 hours sleep.
