Narrative:
Air carrier X at FL260 with clearance to FL240 at pilot's discretion. Air carrier Y climbing eastbound to FL250. Radar controller recognized a possible situation and expedited air carrier X to FL190 and air carrier Y to FL270. Air carrier X responded that he was climbing back up because of an RA alert due to TCASII. Air carrier Y was told to maintain FL250. Separation was lost between FL250 and FL260. The pilot of air carrier X reported that he had the other plane in sight.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ARTCC RADAR CTLR ISSUED DSCNT CLRNC TO ACR (X) THROUGH OCCUPIED ALT, THEN SAW HE WOULD HAVE A PROB SO HE EXPEDITED THE DSCNT OF ACR (X) AND CLBED ACR (Y). ACR (X) RECEIVED A TCASII RA AND RESPONDED BY CLBING BACK TO PREVIOUS ALT. SEPARATION WAS LOST DURING ACR (X) REACTION TO THE TCASII ALERT.
Narrative: ACR X AT FL260 WITH CLRNC TO FL240 AT PLT'S DISCRETION. ACR Y CLBING EBOUND TO FL250. RADAR CTLR RECOGNIZED A POSSIBLE SIT AND EXPEDITED ACR X TO FL190 AND ACR Y TO FL270. ACR X RESPONDED THAT HE WAS CLBING BACK UP BECAUSE OF AN RA ALERT DUE TO TCASII. ACR Y WAS TOLD TO MAINTAIN FL250. SEPARATION WAS LOST BTWN FL250 AND FL260. THE PLT OF ACR X RPTED THAT HE HAD THE OTHER PLANE IN SIGHT.
