Narrative:

While flying level at 13000 ft between somto intersection and ard on the nanci 5 arrival into lga, ATC advised us of VFR traffic. A few seconds later we got a TCASII climb command which I immediately followed to 13600 ft. We advised ATC of our TCASII commanded climb. We were instructed to descend to 11000 ft and to contact approach control.

Title: A B727 FLC RESPONDED TO A TCASII CLB COMMAND SHORTLY AFTER ATC CALLED VFR TFC. ATC WAS INFORMED OF RESPONSE.

Narrative: WHILE FLYING LEVEL AT 13000 FT BTWN SOMTO INTXN AND ARD ON THE NANCI 5 ARR INTO LGA, ATC ADVISED US OF VFR TFC. A FEW SECONDS LATER WE GOT A TCASII CLB COMMAND WHICH I IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED TO 13600 FT. WE ADVISED ATC OF OUR TCASII COMMANDED CLB. WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO DSND TO 11000 FT AND TO CONTACT APCH CTL.
