Narrative:

Aircraft we flew from mco-atl has had the following maintenance carry over items since jan/96: both channels of autothrottle inoperative, both channels of direct lift control/autospoilers inoperative, and first officer flight director inoperative. All these require dispatcher approval and restrict our CAT III aircraft to CAT I. Not having automatic ground spoilers will have an effect on landing roll distance and could also affect aborted takeoff distance as well. Being restricted to CAT I may also affect safety if the nearest field during an emergency is below CAT I, especially during winter months with reduced visibility due to fog and precipitation.
