Narrative:

I contacted grr clearance delivery at approximately AA15Z. Received SVFR clearance to 24C (lowell, mi). Departure was delayed for 2 departures ahead of mine. Departure was approximately AA40Z and was a night departure. Flew VFR to 24C with no problems. Visibility on departure ATIS was 2 mi. I forgot about the 3 mi visibility requirement for night operation in class G. Should the ATC have let me depart with less than 3 mi visibility? I was reminded of the requirements after I had landed at 24C.
