Narrative:
During first trip, hnl to ito, we parked at 'DC10' spot, but trying to use the 1L door created some problems as the aircraft side probe got into the way of the jetway. On second trip to ito, ramp agent guided us very close to terminal (and I said, 'I hope he knows what he's doing'), assuming their intent to utilize 2L door. As flight got ready, captain requested wing walker and forward marshall being so close to terminal and jetway. During initial move out of ramp area (using minimum break-away power) I used approximately 75 percent of right nosewheel steering and stopped shortly by command of wing walker. Then we were cleared to move straight ahead -- and for reasons unknown, moved approximately 20-30 ft and commanded to stop again. The third time we were cleared to move straight ahead, this time just to develop forward aircraft movement, then instructed a right turn. We struck the jetway (left wingtip) within 2 seconds of the turn. Signalman motioned that we scrapped the jetway. Passenger were deplaned.

Title: WDB STRUCK JETWAY DURING GATE DEP RESULTING IN MINOR DAMAGE TO THE WINGTIP.
Narrative: DURING FIRST TRIP, HNL TO ITO, WE PARKED AT 'DC10' SPOT, BUT TRYING TO USE THE 1L DOOR CREATED SOME PROBS AS THE ACFT SIDE PROBE GOT INTO THE WAY OF THE JETWAY. ON SECOND TRIP TO ITO, RAMP AGENT GUIDED US VERY CLOSE TO TERMINAL (AND I SAID, 'I HOPE HE KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING'), ASSUMING THEIR INTENT TO UTILIZE 2L DOOR. AS FLT GOT READY, CAPT REQUESTED WING WALKER AND FORWARD MARSHALL BEING SO CLOSE TO TERMINAL AND JETWAY. DURING INITIAL MOVE OUT OF RAMP AREA (USING MINIMUM BREAK-AWAY PWR) I USED APPROX 75 PERCENT OF R NOSEWHEEL STEERING AND STOPPED SHORTLY BY COMMAND OF WING WALKER. THEN WE WERE CLRED TO MOVE STRAIGHT AHEAD -- AND FOR REASONS UNKNOWN, MOVED APPROX 20-30 FT AND COMMANDED TO STOP AGAIN. THE THIRD TIME WE WERE CLRED TO MOVE STRAIGHT AHEAD, THIS TIME JUST TO DEVELOP FORWARD ACFT MOVEMENT, THEN INSTRUCTED A R TURN. WE STRUCK THE JETWAY (L WINGTIP) WITHIN 2 SECONDS OF THE TURN. SIGNALMAN MOTIONED THAT WE SCRAPPED THE JETWAY. PAX WERE DEPLANED.
