Narrative:
Regarding my flight on feb/sat/96 dtw-dca, this flight operated normally for us out of dtw, en route, and into dca. This was the only segment that the first officer and I flew on the above date, with respect to this aircraft. Upon taxiing into the gate in dca and the subsequent jet ramp docking procedures to the aircraft by the agents were all normal and uneventful. I was unaware of any damage to the aircraft until it was brought to my attention by the dca station manager on the morning of feb/sun/96. The first officer observed no damage to the aircraft during preflight inspection, however due to the location of the damage (at the level the jet ramp meets the aircraft), it would be highly unlikely that it would be seen, with the jet ramp attached to the aircraft in dtw. It was later brought to my attention that the aircraft's previous leg was mexico city-dtw. The company has had several other occurrences of this nature in mex of this nature.

Title: ACFT SKIN DAMAGE WAS DISCOVERED BY THE GND CREW DURING POSTFLT ACTIVITIES AND POINTED OUT TO THE ACR FLC THE NEXT MORNING.
Narrative: REGARDING MY FLT ON FEB/SAT/96 DTW-DCA, THIS FLT OPERATED NORMALLY FOR US OUT OF DTW, ENRTE, AND INTO DCA. THIS WAS THE ONLY SEGMENT THAT THE FO AND I FLEW ON THE ABOVE DATE, WITH RESPECT TO THIS ACFT. UPON TAXIING INTO THE GATE IN DCA AND THE SUBSEQUENT JET RAMP DOCKING PROCS TO THE ACFT BY THE AGENTS WERE ALL NORMAL AND UNEVENTFUL. I WAS UNAWARE OF ANY DAMAGE TO THE ACFT UNTIL IT WAS BROUGHT TO MY ATTN BY THE DCA STATION MGR ON THE MORNING OF FEB/SUN/96. THE FO OBSERVED NO DAMAGE TO THE ACFT DURING PREFLT INSPECTION, HOWEVER DUE TO THE LOCATION OF THE DAMAGE (AT THE LEVEL THE JET RAMP MEETS THE ACFT), IT WOULD BE HIGHLY UNLIKELY THAT IT WOULD BE SEEN, WITH THE JET RAMP ATTACHED TO THE ACFT IN DTW. IT WAS LATER BROUGHT TO MY ATTN THAT THE ACFT'S PREVIOUS LEG WAS MEXICO CITY-DTW. THE COMPANY HAS HAD SEVERAL OTHER OCCURRENCES OF THIS NATURE IN MEX OF THIS NATURE.
