Narrative:
Approaching bdf at FL240, ZAU cleared us to 16000 ft with an altimeter setting of 30.61 inches. I read back 30.61 inches. During descent, cleared to cross benky at 11000 ft. When level at 11000 ft on our altimeters, center questioned our altitude and said he had us at 10000 ft. That was when we realized the altimeter setting should have been 29.61. Cleared to maintain 10000 ft. No traffic conflict occurred.

Title: ARTCC RADAR CTLR GAVE WRONG ALTIMETER SETTING TO FLC DURING DSCNT TO 11000 FT. WHEN ACFT WAS LEVEL, CTLR ASKED THEIR ALT AT WHICH TIME IT WAS DISCOVERED THE ALTIMETER WAS 1000 FT OFF.
