Narrative:
On taxi out from lax at spot xx ground gave taxi instructions, 'taxi C north route to runway 24L.' not being familiar with north route or taxiing to runway 24L I looked down to read north route on my airport diagram. The captain continued to taxi, when I looked up captain had turned onto road between txwys C and B. I radioed ground to notify of mistake. They told us to continue taxi. On taxiway Q ground said we may have struck a stop sign upon return to ramp. Maintenance inspected aircraft, found no damage, we continued flight. Supplemental information from acn 329621: taxiing out of gate in lax at spot xx ground control gave us clearance to taxi to runway 24L via taxiway C north route. (New taxiway signs uncovered.) I was familiar with old intersection (M), outer (J), 50 yd line etc. I told my first officer to look up north route and make sure we were right. I continued to taxi slow and look for taxiway C. As I turned west I noticed I was on the roadway, next to taxiway C. I told my first officer to call ground control and advise them what we had done. Ground control told us to continue to taxi and turn right on taxiway Q. As we continued to taxi on taxiway C ground called back and said we might have hit a small white sign with our main gear doors. Ground cleared us back to an area in front of gate and maintenance came out and checked the main gear doors and said everything was ok (no damage). Then ground control cleared us to runway 25R. We continued our flight to cvg. At the gate in cvg I had the so walkaround the aircraft and check the main gear doors. They were ok. Problem was caused by new taxiway signs and remembering the old route.

Title: LAX ARPT SIGNAGE IS NEW. AS ACFT TAXIES OUT FOR TKOF, THE TAXIING PLT BECOMES CONFUSED, CAUSING HIM TO TAXI ONTO A ROADWAY.
Narrative: ON TAXI OUT FROM LAX AT SPOT XX GROUND GAVE TAXI INSTRUCTIONS, 'TAXI C N RTE TO RWY 24L.' NOT BEING FAMILIAR WITH N RTE OR TAXIING TO RWY 24L I LOOKED DOWN TO READ N RTE ON MY ARPT DIAGRAM. THE CAPT CONTINUED TO TAXI, WHEN I LOOKED UP CAPT HAD TURNED ONTO ROAD BTWN TXWYS C AND B. I RADIOED GND TO NOTIFY OF MISTAKE. THEY TOLD US TO CONTINUE TAXI. ON TXWY Q GND SAID WE MAY HAVE STRUCK A STOP SIGN UPON RETURN TO RAMP. MAINT INSPECTED ACFT, FOUND NO DAMAGE, WE CONTINUED FLT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 329621: TAXIING OUT OF GATE IN LAX AT SPOT XX GND CTL GAVE US CLRNC TO TAXI TO RWY 24L VIA TXWY C N RTE. (NEW TXWY SIGNS UNCOVERED.) I WAS FAMILIAR WITH OLD INTXN (M), OUTER (J), 50 YD LINE ETC. I TOLD MY FO TO LOOK UP N RTE AND MAKE SURE WE WERE RIGHT. I CONTINUED TO TAXI SLOW AND LOOK FOR TXWY C. AS I TURNED W I NOTICED I WAS ON THE ROADWAY, NEXT TO TXWY C. I TOLD MY FO TO CALL GND CTL AND ADVISE THEM WHAT WE HAD DONE. GND CTL TOLD US TO CONTINUE TO TAXI AND TURN R ON TXWY Q. AS WE CONTINUED TO TAXI ON TXWY C GND CALLED BACK AND SAID WE MIGHT HAVE HIT A SMALL WHITE SIGN WITH OUR MAIN GEAR DOORS. GND CLRED US BACK TO AN AREA IN FRONT OF GATE AND MAINT CAME OUT AND CHKED THE MAIN GEAR DOORS AND SAID EVERYTHING WAS OK (NO DAMAGE). THEN GND CTL CLRED US TO RWY 25R. WE CONTINUED OUR FLT TO CVG. AT THE GATE IN CVG I HAD THE SO WALKAROUND THE ACFT AND CHK THE MAIN GEAR DOORS. THEY WERE OK. PROB WAS CAUSED BY NEW TXWY SIGNS AND REMEMBERING THE OLD RTE.
