Narrative:
ASR-9 ARTS failed at 'G' position causing a loss of track data. I was working all arrs and the data blocks just vanished with no warning. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: during callback reporter stated that the outage lasted approximately 40 mins and all that was needed was an ARTS entry to correct the processor malfunction. No automation specialist was on duty and the af technicians did not know the required entry.
