Narrative:
ATC facility, bos departure. Location, 2 mi west of bos airport. After departing bos on runway 27 departure control asked what our heading was. We said 275 degrees. Controller said for noise abatement we should have turned to 250 degrees at 2 DME and please do that in the future. We were not given the logan 9 departure and saw no notes about that turn in the air carrier pages on the airport so assumed no turn was required. If a turn is required for noise a note should be given or the logan 9 departure should be given to all departures.
