Narrative:
Missed resetting altimeter through 18000 ft. We were given 'cross cetus at 11000 ft.' 'STAR' said expect 12000 ft which we had programmed in FMS. Descent required speed brakes to get down to new profile descent. First officer was making PA and captain was reprogramming computer through FL180 on descent. Captain failed to reset altimeter until level off. No conflict noted. Nothing said by ATC. A reminder chime through 18000 ft would be helpful as I believe this happens often enough. Also, it was not usual airport for crew (ie, unfamiliarity with STAR).
