Narrative:
Approaching line of WX north of kraft, WX radar appeared to fail. Requested and received clearance to deviate up to 75 NM west of course. It became clear that additional deviation would be required. As we approached the 75 NM limit, we requested and received clearance to deviate up to 125 NM west of course. At this time we declared an emergency because we thought that we might need to exceed our clearance limit. I don't think that we did go beyond our clearance limit. After deviation we returned on course approximately 30 NM south of kraft. The rest of the flight was normal.

Title: APCHING A LINE OF WX 144 MI N OF KRAFT, WX RADAR APPEARED TO FAIL. THE RPTR REQUESTED AND RECEIVED CLRNC TO DEVIATE W OF COURSE ABOUT 75 MI, THEN 125 MI AND THEN WHEN THAT WAS NOT ENOUGH DECLARED AN EMER TO DEVIATE AS NECESSARY. THE RPTR DID NOT THINK HE EXCEEDED THE 125 MI BEFORE HE TURNED BACK TO REJOIN AMBER 300 ABOUT 30 MI S OF KRAFT. THE REST OF THE FLT WAS NORMAL.
