Narrative:

Preflight aircraft on first leg of day. First officer said a dent was noticed on leading edge of right horizontal stabilizer. I was busy with deicing crew and interior preflight. I asked him to check logbook for information on dent in the damage file. He looked and I thought he said there was information on dent. We continued on with our activities. We flew buf, bwi, msy, lga. As I was completing log on our way to lga, I looked at damage file and didn't see the reference to dent. I asked him and he said it wasn't recorded. I had heard it was there and he didn't correct me as to what he said. I put the dent in the log and maintenance repaired the dent.
