Narrative:
First officer and I both believe we were instructed by mia tower to taxi into position and hold on runway 9L. Tower told us we were on the wrong runway and to expedite to the next taxiway and exit the runway because traffic was on short final. We exited and the other aircraft landed without incident. We still do not know if the error was ours or the tower's.
