Narrative:

We were told by ground control to take to runway 36. Runway 6 and runway 36 share common concrete at their departure ends. By mistake I lined up on runway 6 and departed. The first officer was PF. We were given a left turn to 190 degrees on takeoff. Since we used runway 6, in error, a left to 190 degrees was the long way around versus a right to 190 degrees. I then asked the tower to verify left to 190 degrees and he said that was correct, but he had assigned us runway 36 not runway 6. Fortunately there was no conflicting traffic on runway 6.

Title: COMMUTER LTT DEPARTS ON WRONG RWY.

Narrative: WE WERE TOLD BY GND CTL TO TAKE TO RWY 36. RWY 6 AND RWY 36 SHARE COMMON CONCRETE AT THEIR DEP ENDS. BY MISTAKE I LINED UP ON RWY 6 AND DEPARTED. THE FO WAS PF. WE WERE GIVEN A L TURN TO 190 DEGS ON TKOF. SINCE WE USED RWY 6, IN ERROR, A L TO 190 DEGS WAS THE LONG WAY AROUND VERSUS A R TO 190 DEGS. I THEN ASKED THE TWR TO VERIFY L TO 190 DEGS AND HE SAID THAT WAS CORRECT, BUT HE HAD ASSIGNED US RWY 36 NOT RWY 6. FORTUNATELY THERE WAS NO CONFLICTING TFC ON RWY 6.
