Narrative:
Departed mmu on VFR flight to dxr. Called ny departure to request VFR advisories and was told to standby. Began circumnaving essex class D airspace while waiting for ny approach to get back to us. As we approached lincoln park airport (north of essex county) 2 aircraft departed the runway. We picked them up on TCASII and visually, and elected to deviation to the right which took us into essex county's traffic area. Ny TRACON finally called us back and stated we were in essex county's airspace. We stated we knew that and were avoiding traffic off lincoln park, nj. They stated we should be talking to caldwell tower. We agreed. Next time I'll have copilot talking to tower while I'm waiting for a call back from ny TRACON.

Title: WHILE CIRCUMNAVING CLASS D AIRSPACE, A HELI FLC MANEUVERED TO AVOID TFC DEPARTING FROM A NEARBY NON TWR FIELD AND INADVERTENTLY ENTERED THE CLASS D AIRSPACE.
Narrative: DEPARTED MMU ON VFR FLT TO DXR. CALLED NY DEP TO REQUEST VFR ADVISORIES AND WAS TOLD TO STANDBY. BEGAN CIRCUMNAVING ESSEX CLASS D AIRSPACE WHILE WAITING FOR NY APCH TO GET BACK TO US. AS WE APCHED LINCOLN PARK ARPT (N OF ESSEX COUNTY) 2 ACFT DEPARTED THE RWY. WE PICKED THEM UP ON TCASII AND VISUALLY, AND ELECTED TO DEV TO THE R WHICH TOOK US INTO ESSEX COUNTY'S TFC AREA. NY TRACON FINALLY CALLED US BACK AND STATED WE WERE IN ESSEX COUNTY'S AIRSPACE. WE STATED WE KNEW THAT AND WERE AVOIDING TFC OFF LINCOLN PARK, NJ. THEY STATED WE SHOULD BE TALKING TO CALDWELL TWR. WE AGREED. NEXT TIME I'LL HAVE COPLT TALKING TO TWR WHILE I'M WAITING FOR A CALL BACK FROM NY TRACON.
