Narrative:
In cruise from lex to stl, routing was from lex to iiu to pxv, then on to stl. After crossing iiu VOR, I dialed in the wrong VOR frequency -- 113.6 instead of 113.3 (pxv) and was north of course as a result. Approach control inquired and I corrected. I should have double-checked the frequency.

Title: AFTER XING THE IIU VOR THE RPTR DIALED IN THE WRONG VOR FREQ 113 PT 6 INSTEAD OF 113 PT 3. FOLLOWING THE WRONG SIGNAL TOOK HIM N OF COURSE. THE APCH CTL INQUIRED AND THE RPTR CORRECTED THE ERROR. THE RPTR STATED HE SHOULD HAVE DOUBLE-CHKED THE FREQ.
