Narrative:

Fourth day of IOE for me and second leg of the day. I was well rested, and the flight was progressing well. We were assigned 10000 ft, PF read back 10000 ft, and 10000 ft was set in the flight mode annunciator. PF (me) confirmed 10000 ft and the aircraft leveled off at 10000 ft. Approach contacted us and said something about our being cleared to 11000 ft. He reclred us to 10000 ft. Nothing more was said to us by the controller about the confusion surrounding our initial clearance. Both of us on the flight deck still believe our original clearance was to 10000 ft not 11000 ft.
