Narrative:
Inbound to atl was given holding instructions for macey arrival of hold northeast, 9000 ft further clearance time XA15 at womac. A few mi prior to macey, (221 degree radial/29 mi) was given further instructions to hurry up through 12000 ft and hold at macey 10 mi legs, I misread chart and proceeded past macey for womac. ATC controller came on line and asked if I was going to enter holding at macey since I was 9 mi past macey. I responded, sorry, I couldn't make macey and 9000 ft. I goofed. He then said proceed on the arrival contact ATC on the next frequency.

Narrative: INBOUND TO ATL WAS GIVEN HOLDING INSTRUCTIONS FOR MACEY ARR OF HOLD NE, 9000 FT FURTHER CLRNC TIME XA15 AT WOMAC. A FEW MI PRIOR TO MACEY, (221 DEG RADIAL/29 MI) WAS GIVEN FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS TO HURRY UP THROUGH 12000 FT AND HOLD AT MACEY 10 MI LEGS, I MISREAD CHART AND PROCEEDED PAST MACEY FOR WOMAC.
