Narrative:
Ny controller told us to fly 050 degrees to intercept lga outbound leg. Approximately 1 min later controller asked if we were flying assigned heading of 090 degrees. We said no, we had been given a 050 degree heading. Controller disagreed, but said 'no problem' turn to 090 degrees. We complied.

Narrative: NY CTLR TOLD US TO FLY 050 DEGS TO INTERCEPT LGA OUTBOUND LEG. APPROX 1 MIN LATER CTLR ASKED IF WE WERE FLYING ASSIGNED HDG OF 090 DEGS. WE SAID NO, WE HAD BEEN GIVEN A 050 DEG HDG. CTLR DISAGREED, BUT SAID 'NO PROB' TURN TO 090 DEGS. WE COMPLIED.
