Narrative:
The ARTS III computer quit for a period of 1 hour. Initially, I used only primary radar before traffic could be stopped. This backup system (primary radar) is unsafe given the volume of traffic this facility works.

Title: 4 RPTRS FROM DFW TRACON RPT AN ARTS OUTAGE OF APPROX 1 HR. CAUSE OF THE OUTAGE NOT VERIFIED BUT 1 RPTR ALLEGES A PROCESSOR FAILED. PRIMARY RADAR WAS UTILIZED DURING THE OUTAGE.
Narrative: THE ARTS III COMPUTER QUIT FOR A PERIOD OF 1 HR. INITIALLY, I USED ONLY PRIMARY RADAR BEFORE TFC COULD BE STOPPED. THIS BACKUP SYS (PRIMARY RADAR) IS UNSAFE GIVEN THE VOLUME OF TFC THIS FACILITY WORKS.
