Narrative:
Flight en route pit-msy. Level at FL350. Began to hear unusual noises. Suspected a pack problem. Flight attendants reported noise and then smelling something. Declared emergency when cabin began to fill with smoke. Turned right pack off (side the noise was coming from) and descended. Coordinated with ATC and landed at nearest airport, which was cha. Smoke subsided once pack turned off. Landed without further incident.

Title: MLG AT FL350 HEARS UNUSUAL NOISES, THEN SMOKE IN CABIN. TURNS OFF PACK AND DECLARES EMER.
Narrative: FLT ENRTE PIT-MSY. LEVEL AT FL350. BEGAN TO HEAR UNUSUAL NOISES. SUSPECTED A PACK PROB. FLT ATTENDANTS RPTED NOISE AND THEN SMELLING SOMETHING. DECLARED EMER WHEN CABIN BEGAN TO FILL WITH SMOKE. TURNED R PACK OFF (SIDE THE NOISE WAS COMING FROM) AND DSNDED. COORDINATED WITH ATC AND LANDED AT NEAREST ARPT, WHICH WAS CHA. SMOKE SUBSIDED ONCE PACK TURNED OFF. LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.
