Narrative:
Starting a 2-DAY trip on the may/xx/96 we did a stl turn. We were scheduled to do 2 of them, however, due to WX we were substantially delayed during the first turn. Irregular operations then ensued and the rest of our day was canceled. When completing the first turn we were reassigned to go to allentown, PA. After waiting 4 hours we departed to allentown. At allentown the captain said we could go 'continuous duty' to be able to work out a flight in the morning. The captain talked to the crew desk and they concurred. I never spoke to the crew desk and the captain assured me everything was legal. We ended up on duty for 21:07 with 8:24 flight time. We ended up with only 6:32 of rest in allentown.
