Narrative:
ATC cleared us from 8000 ft to 6000 ft. We did not start our descent for several mi. ATC asked us if we were starting down and I said we were starting down now. It was the end of a long day and we were not very alert.

Title: FLC OF A BRITISH AEROSPACE BAE3100 JETSTREAM FAILED TO START DSCNT REQUESTED BY ATC CAUSING ATC INTERVENE TO REMIND THE FLC TO START AT ONCE!
Narrative: ATC CLRED US FROM 8000 FT TO 6000 FT. WE DID NOT START OUR DSCNT FOR SEVERAL MI. ATC ASKED US IF WE WERE STARTING DOWN AND I SAID WE WERE STARTING DOWN NOW. IT WAS THE END OF A LONG DAY AND WE WERE NOT VERY ALERT.
